At Coacharaya, we sincerely believe that coaching is for everyone. We constantly refer to coaching as a democratic activity. Many wonder what this is about. Is it about politics? No.
Coaching programs are for everyone, for everyone in every situation, everyone in every situation in every system there is, and everyone in every situation in every system there is, along with a self-aware solution, making it a spiritual activity. One may call it the 5 S Coaching structure.
Self: The Self is at the center. It is the driving force of the desire to be, to do, and to have something in each of us. The self also drives the fear of losing something we already have, which initiates the coaching process. Sometimes we are clear about what we desire or are afraid of. Often we are not. We are disempowered, dissatisfied, and yet, we are confused about what would make us empowered, satisfied, fulfilled, and happy. Discovering what this is about, what is stopping us, and how to move towards that end goal is the beginning of a coaching Hero’s Journey.
Situation: The Situation is our current disempowering reality. It’s about who we are now, what we do, and what we have. It’s about who we wish to be, what we wish to do, and what we wish to have. At Coacaharya, we say, start with ‘what the universe wishes us to be’ rather than ‘what I wish to be?’ Whatever the question and the quest is, there are challenges that hold us back. If these challenges, or interference as Gallewey would have it, were external and visible, our job would be easier. We can find someone who can help as a mentor. Often, the challenges, the interferences, and the blocks are within. These are our limiting beliefs. Becoming aware of limiting beliefs is the coaching process.
Solution: The Solution or moving from the current disempowering Situation to the desired goal of the Self is the endpoint. In many ways, this could be the starting point of yet another journey, given the nature of human wants over our needs. Our eyes are always bigger than our stomachs. The Solution in coaching lies within. We become aware of the often unconscious limiting blocks of beliefs that hold us back from the desired aspirational values. Conscious awareness of the limiting beliefs leads to what we can do to move beyond them, and then to action.
System: The System is the environment we are part of. It’s multilayered, expanding through the immediate teams and family, to departments and community, to companies and societies, ever-expanding depending on who and what impact us, and who and what we impact. Coaching in a systemic approach is essential to lead change dynamically.
Spiritual: The Spiritual aspect is the binding energy of coaching. Whether one is coaching oneself or others, we are not merely coaching the body and the mind, the senses, emotions, and cognition, but the essence underlying the mind and body matter as energy. This core belief that we are energy beings embodied in matter, makes our potential infinite. It makes anything possible as the end goal is systemically beneficial to all around us. For many, this makes coaching a vocation rather than a profession. A vocation that nurtures heals, and leads even as it coaches. This is the reason why I am a coach.
