How to Grow Your Social Media Presence with Coacharya

Feb 19, 2020

Social Media has become the biggest platform for businesses to communicate with their customers. It not only allows consumers and businesses to interact in real-time but also makes marketing a lot lighter on the pocket. Did you know that roughly 45% of the world’s population uses social media, with an average of 2 hours and 23 minutes spent per day on social media? Think of all the untapped personal branding potential in there for us! This is exactly what led me to write this article. So that we, together as the Coacharya community, can support each other in conquering the world of social media.

Be it hiring a new employee or going on a date with someone, what’s the first thing that we do? We look them up on social media. You may or may not be paying attention to the image you are putting out into the world through social media. However, it’s the first place people are going to look when they’re curious about you. Even not having a social media presence means something today. This is why we think it’s important to invest time and effort into social media. We do not want to miss out on this opportunity to converse with our audience. Anybody can build a social media presence. All that’s needed is a little bit of consistency and creativity. Soon, you’ll find that the idea of getting the message of what you/your company does out into the world is not that overwhelming after all.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is one of the best platforms for professional networking. It works as an ideal platform to connect with like-minded people and share what you are doing with them. This is why Coacharya puts a lot of focus on our LinkedIn page. Here’s how you can use Coacharya to leverage your LinkedIn presence:

  • Are you somebody who likes to keep learning on the go? Follow the Coacharya LinkedIn Company Page. We share a lot of educational and thought-provoking articles here. We would also love it if you comment on these posts. We’d love to hear what you have to say. The comments you leave will also increase your visibility across the Coacharya community.
  • Are you enjoying what you learn in your coach-training program? Share your learnings with the world by posting them on LinkedIn. Tagging your trainer, your fellow learners, and Coacharya will help increase your post’s visibility.
  • Do you like to write? Share your articles with us. If what you have to say resonates with us, we’re happy to publish them on our blog. We’ll then share it on LinkedIn and tag you as author. Sharing your thoughts with the world gives potential clients the chance to get to know you better.
  • Received your coaching credential? Let us know! We’d love to celebrate you. We’ll post about your milestone on Coacharya’s LinkedIn page.
  • Have you been attending our webinars? You can now share your CCEUs on LinkedIn. Sharing these gives you a chance to tell your network about your areas of interest.

Instagram

The average user spends 53 minutes on Instagram everyday. It is, no doubt a powerful tool. So why not use it to inspire and spread some much needed positivity? Lord knows the world needs it! You never know who you’re helping. Your post might just be that one thing somebody needed to read to pick themselves back up and get their act together.

With Instagram, pictures speak louder than words. We try to send across our message here with an image that speaks for itself and support it with text. This is to capture the audience’s attention and ensure that the message is put accross. I use the same strategy for my own handle, @damsel.in.a.doodle

Facebook

This social media giant continues to occupy 58 mins of the average person’s time in a day. This platform is used to connect with friends and acquaintances informally. Since Facebook is a public but informal platform, it’s the perfect place to raise curiosity and engage your social circle with what you are doing. For example, we used the Facebook Live feature to Livestream a coaching conference we conducted. The Facebook page is a great place to share pictures and videos of events conducted and tag people in them.

Twitter

Different people fall into different user categories on different Social Media platforms. You can be a broadcaster, participant, or observer. You don’t need to take up the same role on all platforms. For example, on Twitter, we fall more into the observer category. If you like to take part in discussions and debates, you can be a participant by retweeting and commenting on others’ tweets.

Users also use it to broadcast real-time information, business marketing, and as an educational tool. You never know who’ll chance upon your handle and reach out. If you’re already on Twitter, follow our handle, @Coacharya

At Coacharya we believe that knowledge should be free. This is why we upload all of our webinar recordings on YouTube. We have also started sharing short explanatory videos of different coaching concepts. Our YouTube Channel serves as a rich open source of learning and information for coaches. Subscribe to Coacharya’s YouTube Channel to access these videos. We also invite you to leave your comments to share your learnings.

In summary, remember that social media is exactly about that- getting “social”. A marketing strategy that is all about getting to know your audience and helping them get to know you is what will work. The power of social media lies in the fact that it is so interactive. Use it to actually speak and listen to your audience and you’re sure to grow – that’s our plan at least! 🙂
