Thrive in 2023

“And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe.”

                                                  – Deepak Chopra

New Year’s resolutions never really worked for me. They never went beyond the brand-new diary I bought for writing my goals and all that I planned to achieve in the new year. An exercise that started with hope and excitement would always result in anxiety and self-loathing. Why can’t I work on the goals that I myself set? What am I missing? The answer came to me in this week’s webinar.

The webinar was a sneak peek into our upcoming program Thrive in 2023, where Master coaches Cindy Muthukarapan, Ram Ramanathan, and Ujjaval Buch discussed what they’re bringing in this 4-part mini-course. As they talked about how it is important to align one’s unconscious beliefs with the future long-term vision that we set for ourselves, I knew what went wrong with my resolutions. My unconscious mind was not in sync with the goals I set for myself.

So what does thriving mean? How do you thrive? Ujjaval aptly said that external conditions may or may not be in your control or circle of influence. But working on thriving internally is under your control and it is something that one can work on. Talking about how that will always be of value, he said, “Your response to the external conditions will be from a thriving perspective, not a surviving perspective and that’s the whole endeavour of Thrive in 2023.”

What is Thrive 2023?

Thriving internally is not just relevant to the personal sphere, it also has to do with professional goals and challenges. During the discussion, I realized how so often, our intentions just do not translate into actions. Coacharya Founder Ram mentioned the locus of control theory and said that we tend to forget that the highest impediment in the locus of control lies within ourselves.

“A very large part lies within us in terms of control. All of it comes together in terms of how, in our mind, we need to understand our blindspots so that we are able to make the best use of the kind of resolutions and affirmations we set for ourselves.”

Have you ever thought ‘what is even the point?’ I have. The problem with the thought is that it restricts us. As Cindy explained how we attach ourselves to so much that limits us, she beautifully summed up by saying, “And yet, it is in the detachment that creativity stands out.”

My Takeaway

One of the key highlights of this webinar for me is how the four features of the series–leading self and others, emotional intelligence, values and beliefs, and recreating the future, are interwoven. I would encourage you to watch this webinar to know more about the nuances which will be explored during Thrive in 2023 and how the program can help you realize your vision and resolutions holistically.
