Learning Outcomes
Foundation Coaching (Prepares Learners for the ICF’s Level 1)
- Learn foundational approaches to coaching as per the ICF core competencies
- Learn tools and frameworks like LASIE, Appreciative Inquiry, et al. to support coaching using biomimicry, design thinking, and systems thinking
Biomimicry
Biomimicry enables us to tap into nature’s wisdom to address challenges in the human world. In the course, you will discover tools to mimic nature’s strategies to boost your coaching skills. Nature has mastered the art of adaptability, resilience, regeneration, cooperation, mutualism, optimal use of resources, survival against all odds, balance, and sustainable living. How can we learn these strategies from nature for our own personal evolution as well as in our role as a coach? In short, how can we effectively learn from nature as our teacher and mentor?
Design Thinking
Design Thinking is a mindset and approach to problem-solving. Design Thinking offers robust and rich tools and skills like empathy, interviewing skills, ideation, lateral thinking, prototyping, and testing. The course will enable you to learn how the design thinking toolkit can help you serve the client effectively.
Systems Thinking Habits
Systems Thinking is an approach to make sense of the complexity of the world by looking at problems holistically in terms of interdependencies and relationships, rather than by breaking them down into components and parts. A Systems Thinker employs habits such as big-picture thinking, considering short-term, long-term, and unintended consequences, looking at multiple perspectives, and resisting the urge to come to quick conclusions. The course will enable you to explore the habits of systems thinkers that can help build on coaching competencies and boost your coaching skills.
